Flora Purim is a jazz fusion vocalist and the wife of Airto Moreira, a well-known percussionist. She has also participated in fusion groups such as Return to Forever. The group she leads boasts a lineup that will make fusion fans drool. It features the son-and-son duo of Cannonball Adderley and George Duke, Mirosolav Vitous, a founding member of Weather Report, and Leon Chancler, who lays down incredibly skillful funk rhythms. Of course, her husband Airto also participates. There is a lot of talking, especially in tracks 5 through 7, where Airto explains percussion instruments before demonstrating them. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere is conveyed. However, the performances themselves are outstanding and breathtakingly cool.
