During this time, Tormé had stepped in to replace Randy Rhoads in Ozzy's band and reportedly received an offer to join permanently; however, he chose to pursue his own solo career instead. His motivation was incredibly high during this era, and the performances captured here are superb—offering a glimpse of the kind of acclaim he might have achieved (perhaps even rivaling Randy Rhoads) had he stayed on as Ozzy's guitarist. Due to issues such as the bankruptcy of his record label and a lack of stable band lineups, official recordings of Bernie Tormé from this period are extremely rare, making these soundboard recordings a truly miraculous find.
