Osaka-Jo Hall, Osaka, Japan, February 13, 1989
This release is a major milestone for Japanese Prince fans! It's finally been discovered! February 13, 1989, marks the final day of Prince's most gorgeous and best tour in history: the Lovesexy Tour! And as you all know, that final day took place in Japan, at the most incredible venue: Osaka Hall! This is an audience recording, but it's been meticulously remastered to deliver the highest possible quality with a truly immersive experience! Because it's never been released before, this final day was considered a dream for Japanese fans, but now it's finally being released in the highest quality possible! What a feat! The content is... legendary, truly incredible. The set was shortened for the Japan tour, and Erotic City wasn't played, but perhaps because it was the final day, he recited the previously unreleased lyrics from Scandalous during "Do Me Baby"! And Sheila E. gave us a special treat: she sang "The Glamorous Life" over a lengthy drum solo, showcasing her signature call-and-response style! And Eric Leeds delivered an unconventional saxophone solo before "Let's Go Crazy"! And in an extremely unusual move, the intro to Purple Rain was stopped midway, and someone involved with the band at the time came on stage to give an MC. And when the speech finished, Prince started singing again, picking up right where he left off! And then there was the grand finale of Alphabet St., with its super funky, danceable playing, and Prince's carefree "bye-bye" as he ended the show with such grace. The final day of the long-awaited Lovesexy tour in Japan was finally unveiled! And it was a fantastic show, arguably the best of the Lovesexy tour!!!
