Musicology Tour Philips Arena, Atlanta August 10, 2004

Exploring the Musicology Tour based in beloved Atlanta, Georgia! All three shows are unreleased audience recordings! Discs 1 and 2 are recordings from the early days of the tour, when The Time were selected as the opening act for the first time! Prince and NPG roar with the same energy as The Time! There are some gaps in the audio, but the overall sound quality is excellent. Then there's the August 9th live performance, when the band returned triumphantly to Atlanta's Philips Arena. This one features a 7-minute recording of The Rules and other acoustic tracks! Finally, Call My Name! The sound quality is excellent overall, although there are some audio cutouts. And then there's the August 10th recording, which sounds great except for some digital noise in the latter half! Then there's a tribute to Rick James, a string of rare acoustic performances including Jungle Love, I Wanna Be Your Lover, 17 Days, When Will We Be Paid, and Something In The Water! And then there's Georgia, a superb live performance that gently inspires the audience! While the two aforementioned shows feel like opening acts, it's still nice to see the precious, extant recordings included in their entirety, without any excerpts.
