The Beatles made their U.S. debut with the single "Please Please Me" in February 1963, one year before their sensational American debut in 1964. While initially released on a minor label and not a hit, their popularity in the UK led to the release of the single "Dakishimetai" by Capitol in the US, which led to numerous singles and albums being released exclusively in the US. The Complete Beatles US Singles Collection features all the singles released in the US from 1963 through the 1990s, presented in chronological order with their original sound sources. This comprehensive collection includes the original singles and EPs from Capitol, known for the numerous different mixes that have been produced for Beatles collectors, as well as rare items from labels other than Capitol, including promos, non-commercial releases, and unreleased items. Unlike current CD remasters, these albums are recorded directly from the original vinyl masters, including rare tracks never before released on CD. The CD jacket and inner lining feature photos of the original master sleeves, making this a must-have collector's item. This album contains 61 tracks, from their 1963 US debut single "Please Please Me/Ask Me Why" on the Vee-Jay label to their 1966 single "Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby." It also includes their debut single "I Want to Hold Your Hand," their first US number one, as well as US-exclusive single couplings, a four-track EP, early singles from labels other than Capitol, and Tony Sheridan tracks, all in roughly chronological order, with the exception of some overlapping tracks. All singles from that era are recorded in mono mixes, faithful to the original master recordings.
