A collection of pro-shot live footage of James Brown from 1971, shortly after the formation of the new J.B.'s centered around Bootsy Collins! This title is a must-have for fans, featuring the first-ever public appearance of the Bologna concert in August 1971, along with additional footage from concerts in Rome in April of the same year and New York. The Bologna concert, which runs for approximately one hour from the beginning, has only been partially available before, but the complete version was unearthed in 2013! Moreover, the picture quality is superb, at master quality! The sound quality, which was somewhat disappointing in the past, has been dramatically improved thanks to the label's original remastering work! The additional footage from the Rome concert is of the highest quality, thanks to the use of a recent rebroadcast master! The Apollo Theater and Mike Douglas Show footage is just okay, but it's a rare leaked take, so it's worth watching. In any case, this release is a must-see, packed with the incredible performances of "Funky President" at his peak!
