Instrumental Jam

This is the aftershow from the 2003 Australian tour. To be honest, Prince and his band seemed quite uncomfortable during this performance, with some interruptions and a sense of rehearsal. Even so, the debut of Musicology, the longest track on the album, is astounding. The studio version of Musicology was created by condensing all of these ideas, and a variety of phrases appear throughout. Then, in the middle of the set, they were probably arguing about the setlist, but they still went ahead with Rad's Ooh! and a pretty violent Peach. The final part of When The Saints Go March In also sounds strangely aggressive.

Sydney 10-25-03(2CDR)+Brisbane 10-27-03(2CDR)

Australian 2003 Tour,Entertainment Centre, Sydney
25th October 2003

Disc 1
1.Intro
2.Let's Go Crazy
3.I Would Die
4 U 4.When Doves Cry
5. 1999 (intro) - Baby I'm A Star
6.Shhh
7.D.M.S.R.
8.A Love Bizarre (intro) - The Glamorous Life (intro) - I Feel For You 9.Controversy
10.Renato Interlude
11.The Beautiful Ones
12.Nothing Compares 2 U
13.Insatiable
14.Sign O' The Times
15. Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Again)

High-quality sound from the 2003 Australian concert. But that's not all. In Sydney on the 25th, Larry Graham, who never made an appearance on the later Musicology tour, made a surprise appearance at the main show. From that moment on, the second half of the encore turned into an aftershow. "I Want To Take U Higher," "The Jam," a downer version of "Thank U," "Days Of Wild," and "It Ain't Over" all ended with a supreme cathartic moment. Then, on October 27th, their final Australian show, the acoustic set in the second half featured Anna Stasia, D&P, Raspberry Beret, HCUDCMA?, TMBGITW, A Case Of U, and All The Critics In Melbourne, bringing the funk to a grand finale. But they didn't stop there, playing a funky version of "Thank You" from Alphabet St. as a token of their appreciation to the Australian audience. These two shows were completely different from their later Hawaii and Mu-Colo tours, making them truly shocking live performances. For some reason, they didn't play "Purple Rain" on these two shows. Instead, they unleashed a funk jam that was sure to give you goosebumps.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0956/5801/7084/files/IMG_4588_a4f60461-d2c8-4324-a9a7-fc69e9be8088.jpg?v=1770386789
