This is the aftershow from the Tramps' New Power Soul Tour in New York on September 26th! With barely a trace of cheering, the raw guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards leap into your ears with a clarity and power on par with Small Club! This is one of the top three Prince bootlegs of all time! The lineup on this recording is incredible! Prince, NPG, and Rhonda Smith are absent, but instead, Larry Graham plays funky bass, along with Marva King, Doug E. Fresh, Chaka Khan, and members of Chaka Khan's band, GCS members, horns, and the ever-popular Candy Dulfer! P-Funk's "Flash Light," which begins with Candy Dulfer's horns, is a heavyweight funk track, gradually evolving into "Days of Wild." Prince's powerful, emotional cutting creates a danceability unlike anything I've heard before. The melancholic flow of the horns and Larry Graham's vibrant bass sound are so good that it's hard not to be moved, and it's so cool! Prince's skill in leading a large band is truly impressive. His vocals are as effortless as Sly's! And "Thank You" is full of dark funk, giving you goosebumps even in the summer. And "The Jam" isn't dominated by Larry Graham; Prince introduces the band leader, the NPG members, and Candy Dulfer. For some reason, Larry Graham introduces himself on bass. Doug E. Fresh's raps intertwine with Prince's languid guitar, reminiscent of "The War." The second half of the album features go-go with crunchy, funky cutting, clearly reflecting Prince's vision. The horns are also incredibly vocal. The album then continues with a rare Madhouse performance of "Asswoop," the reggae-inspired summer tune "Higher Love," and in the second half, Chaka Khan appears for a piano intro, followed by the flowing guitar of "Sweet Thing." Prince supports the performance with "Baby I Love You," and the funky, dance-ready "You Got The Love" concludes with a wonderful performance, ending with Prince's thank-you MC and, finally, shouting "Don't say my name." This soundboard, recorded just before the CD's release, is the ultimate aftershow, and a major event in Prince bootleg history!!!

New Power Atlantic Soul(4CDR)

Disc 1
Graham Central Station
Days Of Wild
Thank you
You Can Sing It If You Try
Free
Everyday People
Eyemagettin'
The Jam
Music Lover
I Want To Take You Higher

Disc 2
Chaka Khan Set
Once You Get Started
I Feel For You
You Got The Love
Sweet Thing
Tell Me Something Good
Higher Love
Spoon
Through The Fire
I'm Everywoman

Disc 3+4
Prince & New Power Generation Set
Let's Go Crazy
She's Always In My Hair
U Got The Look
Kiss
Gett Off
Gett Off Housestyle
There' A War Goin' On
Talkin' Round Sayin' Nothing
Let's Work
Delirious
Rock 'n Roll Is Alive Purple Rain
The Ride
I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man
The One
The Go-Go's
Also Sprach Zarathustra
Release Yourself
Diamonds and Pearls
The Beautiful Ones
Darling Nikki
Nothing Compares 2 U
Take Me With U
Raspberry Beret

Grand Cayman Ballroom, Atlantic City, USA September 26, 1998

We're releasing a rare, complete audience recording from Prince's September 26, 1998 concert, available only to hardcore trades! This live performance took place the day after the aforementioned aftershow. It's also from the under-released New Power Soul Tour, featuring Larry Graham and Shaka Khan. This impressive four-disc set is truly a remarkable achievement. Prince had already appeared at Larry Graham's GCS concert, providing a powerful performance on guitar and vocals on "Days of Wild" and "Thank You." This performance rivaled even the aftershows. His performance of Prince-related songs like "Free" and "Eyemagettin'" was also unique to this period. Chaka Khan's set, led by Prince's excellent MC, included backing vocals on "I Feel For You" and "Spoon," a song written by Prince himself. It was a performance you'd only hear on Prince's New Power Soul tour! Prince's set, followed by "Let's Go Crazy," featured unexpected tracks, highlighting Prince's peak performance at the time. However, there's one thing worth noting here: a nine-minute version of "There's A War Goin' On," a performance that could be considered the original version of "The War"! This unreleased live version of Prince's song is an earthy funk with dark horns and a missionary-like talking blues vibe that will have you falling in love with it instantly!
