This release captures the live performance from September 29 at Kyoto Kaikan Daiichi Hall in Kyoto, Japan—Eric Clapton's third tour of the country. The late 1970s was a period of great musical drive for Eric, marked by the annual release of new albums and a high-energy playing style that defined the prime of his early solo career; this recording allows listeners to fully enjoy a fantastic, fast-paced concert. Highlights abound, including a moment in the middle of the set where "Tell The Truth" is interrupted due to a timing issue, as well as a stunning rendition of "Double Trouble." Although this is an audience recording, the sound quality is superb—especially considering the era—offering excellent clarity and a vivid sense of presence that makes for a very stable and enjoyable listening experience.
