This release captures Gary Moore's fifth tour of Japan, specifically the concert held on May 8, 1989, at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo. It was the promotional tour for the album *After the War*—often cited as his masterpiece—and with the album enjoying massive global success, the energy from Gary and the band was incredibly high; they were firing on all cylinders right from the start. The concert is characterized by a powerful, driving momentum, capturing what was arguably the absolute peak of Gary's career. The performance is highly polished, featuring excellent interplay among the band members—truly a top-tier live show. Although he would not set foot in Japan again until 2010, this stands as perhaps the best of all his Japanese performances. Regarding sound quality: while it is an audience recording, the balance between instruments is surprisingly good, allowing for a realistic and immersive concert experience. Although there is a slight "vintage" feel to the audio, the sound is remarkably clear and of high quality, even accounting for the era in which it was recorded.
