This must-have item for fans features a complete recording of Jeff Beck's two LA concerts on April 21st and 22nd, 2009, with special guests, captured in excellent audience recording quality. It also includes a bonus DVD with professionally shot footage of his performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier that month! Tracks 7 on discs 1 and 2 of the CD are from the first LA show on April 21st, featuring a surprise appearance by Rod Stewart, and a guest appearance by Joss Stone on "I Want To Take You Higher," a song performed as an encore during the Encore segment with EC Walker at the Japanese concerts—a truly enviable live performance for fans who couldn't attend. Similar to previously released CDR titles, it uses a high-quality online source as the master, but the label has applied its own remastering, transforming the somewhat lackluster mono audience master into a powerful and impressive sound that could almost be called a completely different product. Disc 2, track 8 through Disc 3 features the performance at the same venue the following day. Joss Stone joins in on "Higher," just like the previous day, and John Mayer joins them on Jimi Hendrix's "Manic Depression." In terms of sound quality, there are some parts where the bass is slightly distorted compared to the previous day, but the label's own remastering has been applied, resulting in a sound quality that is far superior to online recordings. Beck's guitar playing is even sharper than the previous day, making this a must-listen live performance for fans.
