The band disbanded in October 1977 after losing three members, including leader Ronnie Van Zant, in a plane crash.

The band was later re-formed in 1987 with Ronnie's younger brother Johnny at the helm.

The classics "Freebird," "Sweet Home Alabama," and "Saturday Night Special" are also performed with stunning renditions.
