Pat Metheny A superb item has arrived: a digitally remastered recording of the Group's first-ever stereo soundboard master from their landmark live album era, 'Travels'. This two-disc set completely captures their performance at Mesa Centennial Hall in Arizona on July 26, 1982. Like 'Offramp' and 'Travels', the band features Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays, joined by Steve Rodby, Dan Gottlieb, and Nana Vasconcelos, delivering an incredibly high-energy live performance that feels like speeding down an Arizona highway. Opening with "Phase Dance," and continuing with the furiously fast-paced encore of "(Cross The) Heartland" and "American Garage," this two-hour-long, passionate performance by the young PMG is superb, with official-quality sound. This is an absolutely essential item that conveys the entirety of this 1982 tour.
