We've acquired a brand new tape, never before seen in a trade, and released a Milan performance from the early days of the Lovesexy tour! This is without a doubt the best sound quality of the Lovesexy tour, and in fact, one of the best live performances of the '80s! While the Lovesexy tour gradually became more selective and streamlined, it's wonderful to see them still experimenting at this stage. The long play of "Head," the guitar part of "Blues in C," "U Got the Look," and "Pop Life" were included in the first half of the set, the high-energy performance of "Eye No" after "Cross the Line," the unreleased "God Is Alive" with horns in "I Wish U Heaven" (at which point he shouts "God will deliver us," the title of this album), and Prince even singing "God Is Alive" himself, which is incredible. This was also Prince's first time incorporating a piano set, making for a memorable performance. Prince plays and sings as if savoring the music and assessing the audience's reaction. Furthermore, there is a wonderful and rare moment when a song called International Lover, which was only played on a very small part of the 1999 tour and the Purple Rain tour, is played on a piano set.
