DAP Label presents a newly remastered and edited compilation of rare analog recordings, "The Rarities Collection I & II," a compilation of numerous alternate mixes and edits from Beatles singles and compilation albums that existed around the world since the 1960s! The Beatles' official studio recordings were remastered in 2009 to a globally standard stereo and mono master, leaving many of the unique recordings from around the world only accessible on the original vinyl.
This collection features original recordings from the 1960s, unreleased tracks from numerous compilations released in the 1970s and 1980s, and hard-to-find rare mixes, all fully digitized from the original vinyl and tape masters, preserving the unique sonic quality of analog.
This definitive collector's edition, a must-have research resource for Beatles recording collectors, encompasses rare recordings from the vinyl era that cannot be heard on today's globally standardized recordings. "The Rarities Collection I" features 56 tracks in roughly chronological order across two CDs, including the "Stereo Masters"—the American-exclusive pseudo-stereo and remixed versions originally released by Capitol Records—as well as familiar tracks like the 1965 stereo mixes of "All My Loving" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand," the long version of "And I Love Her," and the trumpet ending of "Penny Lane." These tracks also feature mixes with subtle variations in echo and separation.
"The Rarities Collection II" features 30 carefully selected tracks, including the "Mono Masters" on CD1, including mixes unique to the original singles, the American-exclusive mono mix that resulted in numerous mix variations due to its release ahead of the UK release, the longest version of "A Hard Day's Night" previously only available on 8-track tape, and the elusive "Tomorrow Never Knows" (Matrix 1), previously only available on the UK first pressing of the album "Revolver." CD2 contains previously unreleased stereo and mono recordings as "Additional Masters." This set includes 27 tracks in total, including remixes from the '70s and '80s, a rare mix of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" released only in Australia, and a mono single released only in Brazil and Japan. Each track is a compilation of analog recordings from the original vinyl or tape sources.
