This title, featuring a high-quality soundboard recording of the June 28th performance at the Memphis Midsouth Coliseum from their 1978 American tour—the year of the release of their masterpiece "Some Girls"—is being urgently released by the Stones-specialized label "SODD"! The 1978 tour was a stark contrast to the flashy 1975 and 1976 tours, which heavily incorporated horn sections, percussion, and other support instruments. It stripped away all unnecessary elements, returning to their roots with a solid, punk-rock performance. Mick's vocals and the band's playing were undeniably powerful, a defiant stage presence that seemed to declare them a true rock band in response to the punk movement of the time—perhaps a response from the old wave? Unfortunately, it doesn't include all the songs performed that day, but the powerful sense of presence, despite being over 30 years old, is still breathtaking today! The album concludes with a bonus track: the mono single version of "Let It Rock," the B-side of the single "Brown Sugar"!
