This is one of the most classic recordings, and SODD previously released the December 18, 1981 Hampton concert under the title "Happy Birthday Keith." Now, SODD is re-releasing it with a completely different master! This North American tour, including the Hampton concert, was in conjunction with the release of "TATTOO YOU," and was a massive undertaking spanning 50 venues and attracting 1.65 million spectators. While official items include the live album "STILL LIFE" and the video "Let's Spend The Night Together," bootlegs cannot be ignored in order to get a complete overview of the live performance. This Hampton concert, held on December 18, 1981, the day before the final day of the tour and Keith's 38th birthday, was simultaneously broadcast on FM radio and cable TV, and numerous titles were created based on that broadcast during the analog era. Due to the original broadcast mix, Keith's sound was difficult to hear, and many bootlegs had missing sections. However, this release features a complete master with no cuts or edits from the intro of the opening SE "Take the A Train" to the outro of the closing SE "Star Spangled Banner," and has been newly mastered. The sound quality retains Bob Clearmountain's unique mix with its emphasized bass, resulting in a powerful and impressive sound. Of course, Keith's guitar, which was almost completely muted on previous releases, is now clearly audible.
