This release features the live performance from June 7th, the final show of a series of seven concerts held at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles in June 1978, prior to their European tour following their first visit to Japan in February. The recording is a first-generation master recording by the world-renowned taper, Mike Millard, capturing ultra-high-quality audience recording.
While the instrumental version of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall," "Love Her With A Feeling," and "Baby Stop Crying" are not included, this performance, like the previously released June 1st and 3rd concerts, boasts an astonishingly high-quality sound—so good that it's hard to believe such a recording exists for a 1970s audience recording.
This was a warm-up live performance held in advance of the European tour starting on June 15th. The basic arrangement of the rhythm section is the same as on the official album "Budokan" and the 18th studio album "Street Legal" that will be released later, but Bob Dylan's incredibly powerful and overwhelming vocal performance, which is more refined with this band, is shocking.
