This is a rare live recording featuring guest appearances by Pat Metheny and Marcus Miller with David Sanborn's band. The overall sound is slightly surround-like, and while the lower frequencies are somewhat weak, it's a well-recorded audience recording that has been remastered. The speeches between songs are easy to hear, like a soundboard recording, and have been left in. While Sanborn's jazz might be a little too flashy, the addition of Metheny gives it a slightly different, more fitting feel. It's a must-listen for Sanborn fans, but Metheny's guitar playing is also a highlight, making it recommended for Metheny fans as well. Acoustic bass virtuoso Charlie Haden also takes many solos. His sound is completely different from guest bassist Marcus Miller, creating a delightful contrast. The band members are also top-notch, including Al Foster, who used to smash the hi-hat in Miles Davis's band, and percussion legend Don Alias.
