This release captures Eric Clapton's live performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, USA, on March 19, 2017. Following a period where he performed only in Japan during 2015 and 2016, this marked his first concert of 2017. It was a long-awaited performance for audiences outside of Japan; Clapton appeared to be in excellent condition, displaying high energy and stamina while delivering powerful, spirited guitar work right from the start. The setlist was superb—offering the kind of material longtime fans love best—and the appearance of guests Gary Clark, Jr. and Jimmie Vaughan added a special touch, making for a magnificent opening-night show. Although the audio is an audience recording, the quality is excellent; the sound features great separation and clarity across all instruments, allowing for a consistently high-quality listening experience.
