This uncut, high-quality audience recording captures one of GN'R's longest shows, the 3 hour and 40 minute performance at Tokyo Dome on December 19th, from their 2009 Japan tour, which consisted of only two shows in Osaka and Tokyo. Like the Osaka performance released at the same time, this release features the high-quality original audience master, unique to the XAVEL label, and has been digitally remastered in 24-bit. Reflecting the acoustic characteristics of the venue, the sound definition is slightly less sharp than the Osaka performance on the same label, but the sense of presence and balance are both excellent, and fans who attended the concert that day will likely be astounded by the sound quality. As for the performance itself, as immediately after the show ended, it was simply a "legendary" performance. Like the Osaka performance, "Whole Lotta Rosie" opened the set, and the extended encore even included a performance of "Nice Boy," a song that will leave even old fans swooning. Holding back nothing, Axl Rose's uncompromising performance, sprinting an octave higher from the very start of "Nightrain," pouring all his energy into the stage, may well have a profound effect on modern show business, which values punctuality and flawless performances.
