This is certainly a title that aims to include a complete collection of Prince's recordings, both vinyl and CD. However, Fun With Vinyl is particular about sound. The recordings were played on a Technics SL-1200MK2 record player and then recorded to DAT tape on a Sony PCM-R300 via a Yamaha RX-Z1 audio/video receiver. The audio was then imported to a PC using a Turtle Beach Catalina sound card and Cool Edit Pro software, where it was remastered, including removing clicks, and converted to digital WAV files. The sound quality is top-notch. Another groundbreaking feature is the inclusion of edited versions not previously included in the Anthology series, as well as B-sides that were omitted because Prince was not involved. It also includes artists who were associated with Prince, both before and after him.

Volume 7 is divided into Part 1 and Part 2. Part 2 features a 12-inch and edited version of Jesse Johnson. Jesse's remix of "Do Yourself A Favor," which also features a Prince version, and that remix, as well as the remix of "She (I Can't Resist)," are also excellent. Also featured on Part 1 are a remix and edit of the New Jack Swing masterpiece "My Girl" by Da Crush, who later became Cool School, a Jesse remix of the French pop band Les Rita Mitsouko, and a Jesse-produced remix of Sue Ann, who sang Prince's "Make It Through The Storm," and her single, "Rock Steady," a cover of Aretha Franklin's song. It's all Jesse.
