Live at Pyramid Arena, Memphis, June 14, 2004

The complete debut recording from the Musicology Tour has been released suddenly by the new label, Funk Legit! This live performance at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis on June 14, 2004, features a superb audience recording with incredibly realistic sound quality! This was in mid-June, just before the Celebration, and after this performance, Prince returned to Minneapolis in triumph. A live performance around Prince's birthday, there's no way the content couldn't be worse. The acoustic set was particularly impressive, with a rare rendition of "Great Ball Of Fire"—a minute and a half long, yet perfectly executed rock 'n' roll performance—not even Freaksound, who supposedly released all of their live shows! Extremely rare. Also making its debut on the Mewcoro tour, this song was never played on guitar before, and it's an ultra-rare rendition, featuring the floating falsetto and beautiful guitar melody of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' classic "Ooh Baby Baby."
