Prince had nearly completed "Come" in 1993 but was unable to release it. In 1994, he created an early concept album with a gold cover, "The Gold Album," similar to "The Black Album," but without a title. He was in negotiations with Warner about how to release these two albums. The video "The Beautiful Experience" was broadcast, and he also went on a tour featuring only new songs, including tracks from NPG's second album, "Exodus." However, the new albums were slow to be released. Finally, "Come" was released in August 1994, followed by "The Gold Experience" in September 1995, more than a year later. Around this time, he was increasingly keen to leave Warner and release his new songs freely under his own rights, and it is believed that he had written a considerable number of songs. To quickly meet his contract requirements, he presented Warner with a 1CD edition of "Emancipation," as well as "Chaos and Disorder" and "The Vault Old Friends 4 Sale," the latter two of which were released by Warner. These songs are also included on the album 'Crystal Ball'.
This time, we're releasing a new concept 2-CD set called 'The Gold Deluxe', which compiles songs from the period between 1993 and 1996 when Prince changed his name, edits them together, and uses unreleased album tracks, original remixes, videos, alternate versions from the radio broadcast of 'The Beautiful Experience', and talk by Nona Gaye. The unexpected crossfades create a new listening experience, drawing you in with a sense of awe. Without adding any unique effects to Prince's songs themselves, and cleverly incorporating "NPG Operator" and "Segue," the album is a grand structure centered on the "Gold" worldview, emphasizing song development and connections. The noise between tracks present in the master has been thoroughly removed, making this the true arrival of 'The Gold Deluxe'.
