The real deal from the "Old Friends" 2009 Japan tour, three Tokyo shows, is here! The July 10th and July 11th Tokyo Dome shows, as well as the July 15th Budokan extra show, are all recorded with superb audience recordings that will move fans to tears. These three ultra-high-quality titles, meticulously remastered from the exclusive original masters, offer the extraordinary content you'd expect from the XAVEL label, which claims to offer the ultimate in audience recordings. This release, "saudades tokyo part-2," features the band's performance at the Tokyo Dome on July 11, the second day of their third Japan tour. It features a high-quality master recorded from the front-center seats of the arena, and then digitally remastered in 24-bit. As with the previous performance, the sound quality is astoundingly close and clear, almost unaware of the dome recording. This performance also features a remastering that aims for a fuller, richer sound, enhancing the richness of Paul & Art's vocals. For this Japan tour, the band was supported by a 10-piece band, featuring familiar musicians led by Mark Stewart, as well as Black musicians like bassist Bakithi Kumalo and guitarist Vincent Nguini. While the venue's PA system created a perfect separation between the left and right speakers, this title captures the entire performance in perfect stereo balance! If you listen to the left and right guitars in the intro of "Winter Walk," you'll be able to appreciate how wonderful it is! As for the set list, "Graceland" was played instead of "Diamonds on Shoes" during Paul's solo time.
