The 1962 Decca Audition tape, a historic recording of The Beatles, is being released as a master edition featuring new, highest-quality audio sources to date. While various modifications have been made to the recording, including sound quality enhancements and pitch corrections, this master edition is already considered the best recording among discerning Beatles collectors overseas, as it is the master recording closest to the unedited original. Indeed, its clear sound quality, tape speed, and length make this a long-awaited master recording, having finally seen the light of day. Bonus tracks in the second half of the album include recordings of Tony Sheridan, the EMI audition, and a Cavern Club rehearsal, documenting The Beatles before their official debut. This master edition is the definitive version of the now-legendary Decca Audition, which ultimately resulted in the band failing the audition and leaving a historic regret for Decca! The Decca Audition recordings are already familiar to Beatles collectors. Since the Decca Gone series singles first appeared over 30 years ago, numerous LPs have been released. In the CD era, titles touting improved sound quality and pitch correction have been released. However, most of these have been degraded from the original recordings, often with reverb effects or the cutting of endings during mastering. This is also true for CDs based on unrecorded tape recordings. Ultimately, the Decca Gone series singles have been said to have the best sound quality and content. However, no releases have been made using the source material from which the analog master was based, and this release marks the first CD release from this original master. While previous releases have been edited to approximate the original, none of them perfectly match the new release, demonstrating that they are not copies of previous releases. While some tracks may be longer, these are due to pitch differences and none surpass the original master. In addition, compared to the recordings on the official "Anthology," the sound quality itself is the most natural and clear sound without any processing or adjustment. The only correction made to the master in this release is the tape twist at the beginning of "Money" being restored to its original state; otherwise, it is recorded exactly as it was on the original master.
