"Magical Mystery Tour TV Archives - Complete 4 Japanese Collection" is a 50th anniversary special edition released by SGT. as a two-disc set on two DVD pressings! DVD 1 features the original video version, first remastered and released in Japan in 1998. This first-ever stereo remix by George Martin and restored by Ron Furmanek features Japanese subtitles. The audio mix differs from the current official version, and the subtitles are edited to reflect the original, including mistranslations. The second half of the set includes the documentary special "BBC Arena: Magical Mystery Tour Revisited," which aired on the BBC at the time of the new version's release in 2012. This must-see documentary includes interviews with Paul and Ringo looking back on the time, as well as rare outtakes. This is the TV version with Japanese subtitles that was broadcast only once at the time. DVD 2 features the 8mm version from the original mono film, the first subtitled release in Japan in the 1970s. While this footage has been difficult to obtain since going out of print in the 1970s and is of lower quality than later video releases, it is a rare version recorded with the original mono soundtrack and, with the unique Japanese subtitles unique to this era, is a must-have vintage film for collectors. The second half of the DVD includes the Japanese subtitled TV version of the documentary "Magical Mystery Tour Memories," which was broadcast overseas on TV and also released on video.
