This recording captures the October 8th performance at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt, Germany, during the initial tour by Beck, Bogert & Appice (BBA). Since the recording sessions for their debut album didn't begin until November, the fact that they toured beforehand is a testament to the caliber of these major artists coming together. However, perhaps due to a limited repertoire at the time, they performed tracks like "Lady," "Superstition," and "Livin' Alone"—songs that would appear on that debut album—alongside established hits. It is striking how much heavier the songs sound with this new rhythm section, and Jeff Beck's high-energy live playing is truly astonishing. The concert features drum and bass solos, making it clear that Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice were far more than mere backing musicians for Jeff Beck. Despite it being their first tour, there is absolutely no sense of tension or hesitation; it is a magnificent live performance. This is one of the earliest recordings available from Bogert & Appice. Although it is an audience recording, the sound quality is outstanding; it is clear and free of muddiness, allowing you to fully enjoy the powerful live performance. While parts of this show have been released previously, the encore track "Why Should I Care" was missing from those versions; this release captures the entire set from opening to encore. Unfortunately, there is a brief gap in the audio during the latter part of "Let Me Love You" due to a tape change.
