The Necromancer series, which reissues rare titles from handmade labels by collectors for collectors that were only distributed in very limited quantities, using officially acquired masters, now features Headless Hawk, a top-tier collector's label in the jazz genre.
This is a live recording of Can, the giants of German rock. Despite being an audience recording, it's remarkably well-recorded. After years of experimentation, exploration, and twists and turns, Holger Czukay, the brains of Can, had settled into a stable position with Michael Karoli, Irmin Schmidt, and Jaki Liebezeit. This 1975 live performance showcases their originality while maintaining a sense of stability as a rock band. It's a recommended period for those new to Can. It's a shame that Damo Suzuki's Japanese-accented rendition of "Vitamin C" isn't included, but it's performed as an instrumental. The danceable number "Dizzy Dizzy" is also a must-listen.
