This recording captures the live performance held at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on November 4, 1988—part of the Japan tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of Eric Clapton's debut (his eighth tour of the country). As a special anniversary event, the lineup featured supporting musicians Mark Knopfler (of Dire Straits) and, remarkably, Elton John. Sting also made a surprise guest appearance, belting out the hit song "Money For Nothing." It was a concert boasting a truly star-studded lineup and unexpected surprises. The performance radiates a palpable aura of greatness; with solo spots from Mark Knopfler and Elton John and Eric Clapton in top form, it is a thoroughly enjoyable concert to listen to. Audience members who saw the show live were truly lucky to witness Sting as well. You’ll get hooked on the guitar battles and beautiful performances by Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton. As for the sound quality—despite being an audience recording—it is absolutely flawless.
