This release captures Gary Moore's first-ever tour of Japan in 1983—specifically the concert held on January 22 at Shibuya Kokaido in Tokyo—featuring Ian Paice. Given his status as a major name with both popularity and proven talent (having played in bands like Colosseum), it is surprising that his first visit to Japan came relatively late; however, the fact that it was his debut performance in the country, combined with the powerhouse backing of Don Airey and Ian Paice, created a naturally electric atmosphere. From start to finish, one can hear a dynamic performance where the audience, the band members, and Gary are completely united. Gary’s high-energy playing and passionate performance are truly astounding, especially considering this was his first time performing solo in Japan. Regarding sound quality: although it is an audience recording, the audio is excellent. While the recording position sounds slightly distant, proper restoration work appears to have been applied, resulting in a well-balanced mix with great clarity and tonal balance.
