Chinese Democracy, Guns N' Roses' fourth album, was released after a difficult birth in November 2008. Fans are already familiar with this studio album, with numerous fragmented demo recordings circulating prior to its release. Now, a rare multi-track master recording from just before the final mix has finally seen the light of day. It's titled, appropriately enough, "The Making of Chinese Democracy." This Vol.1 release features the first eight of the album's 14 tracks, including "Scraped," as seven separate tracks for each song (① Drums (kick), ② Drums (snare), ③ Drums (cymbals), ④ Bass, ⑤ Guitar, ⑥ Vocals, ⑦ Other Instruments), all recorded on four discs. The appeal of these completely separate tracks is that they clearly showcase the high level of skill of each member, not to mention Axl's one-of-a-kind vocals.
