This is a complete recording of the first day, May 11th, of the three-day Japan tour in support of "Battle Studies" in 2010, recorded with a superb audience sound. Held over three consecutive days at Tokyo's JCB Hall, this Japan tour featured a unique set each day, featuring new songs from the new album "Battle Studies" and tracks from their previous album, "Continuum," as well as songs from their debut album, "Room for Squares," and cover songs. The acoustic section midway through the first performance featured "Daughters" from "Heavier Things" and a cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," making it a must-listen for fans. With his superb guitar work, soulful vocals that perfectly complement his guitar tone, and John's unique Japanese MCing, both of which are sure to leave fans in awe, the band also performs flawlessly, led by Keith Carlock, who replaced Steve Jordan on drums and lives up to his hype.
