This Miles Davis item comes from the "Stargazers" label, which is currently attracting attention as the pinnacle of Miles Davis collector's labels and also plays an active role in supporting "Voodoo Down" Records, including creating bonus discs.

The Sapporo performance from the 1983 Japan tour is now available in an upgraded version. It's labeled as a soundboard recording, but the actual source is unclear. However, the sound quality is certainly at a level where it's "impossible to determine" whether it's a soundboard recording or an audience recording. There's a bit of hiss, but even so, it's been heavily noise-reduced. During this tour, main guitarist Mike Stern wasn't in good health, and Miles, concerned about this, brought John Scofield along as a backup. Coincidentally, this was a rare period where Stern and Scofield played twin guitars.
