Richie Sambora arrived in Japan for his appearance at Summer Sonic 2014. This August 13th live performance at EX Theater Roppongi, the only solo performance during his visit, was completely recorded in ultra-high-quality audience sound! This ultra-high-quality album features 24-bit digital remastering of the XAVEL label's premium audience recordings.
The show got off to a rocky start, with both doors and the show delayed by nearly 30 minutes. While Orianthi's original songs were cut from the setlist, fans were delighted to hear an impromptu rendition of "Rosie" upon request. The set opened with a cover of Leon Russell's "A Song For You." Richie, a professional vocalist, showcased his stunning vocals, followed by a duet with Orianthi and a twin-guitar solo exchange, creating a truly cohesive performance. The first half of the concert focused on songs from Richie's 2012 solo album "Aftermath of the Lowdown," while the second half was dominated by Bon Jovi songs like "I'll Be There For You," "Livin' On A Prayer," and "These Days," making for a satisfying setlist for fans. While it's still unclear whether Richie has left Bon Jovi, his performance in Japan was outstanding.
