All tracks digitally remastered and compiled by DAP
DAP Label presents "The Rarities Collection I & II," a newly remastered compilation of rare analog recordings that brings together numerous alternate mixes and edits from Beatles singles and compilation albums that existed around the world since the 1960s!
The Beatles' official studio recordings were remastered in 2009 to a globally standard stereo and mono master, leaving many of the unique recordings from around the world only available on the original vinyl records.
This collection features original recordings from the 1960s, as well as unreleased CDs and hard-to-find rare mixes from numerous compilation albums released in the 1970s and 1980s. Each recording has been fully digitized with a newly remastered sound, preserving the unique sonic quality of analog from the original vinyl and tape masters.
This definitive collector's edition is a must-have research resource for Beatles recording collectors, covering rare recordings from the vinyl era that cannot be heard on today's globally standardized recordings. [Collector's Point]
"The Rarities Collection I" features 56 tracks across two CDs, arranged in roughly chronological order, including the "Stereo Masters" (a pseudo-stereo version unique to the US released by US Capitol), remixes of "All My Loving" (with its hi-hat opening), the 1965 stereo mix of "I Want to Hold Your Hand," the extended version of "And I Love Her," and the trumpet ending of "Penny Lane." Also included are mixes with subtle variations in echo and separation.
"The Rarities Collection II" features 30 carefully selected tracks, including mixes unique to the original singles, the American mono mix that resulted from numerous mix variations due to its early release in the UK, the longest version of "A Hard Day's Night" previously only available on 8-track tape, and the elusive "Tomorrow Never Knows," previously only available on the UK first pressing of the album "Revolver."
CD2, the "Additional Masters," features previously unreleased stereo and mono recordings. It includes 27 tracks in total, including remixes from the '70s and '80s, a rare mix of "Dakishimetai" (I Want to Hold You), released only in Australia, and a mono single released only in Brazil and Japan. Each track is a compilation of analog recordings from the original vinyl or tape sources.
