This recording is a live recording from Berlin in 1983. It's a soundboard recording mastered from a television broadcast. While the sound quality is excellent, there's a magnetic artifact from the videotape that couldn't be fully removed through reduction. The reason the tracks are concentrated on Disc 1 is because there wasn't much of a break between the tracks. This is an important archive of the turbulent year of 1983, when Miles Davis' band began with twin guitars by Mike Stern and John Scofield, then Stern left and was replaced by keyboardist Robert Irving, and eventually Bill Evans and Al Foster also changed.
