10. WHY DOES LOVE GOT TO BE SO SAD?
This is the latest live recording from the Tedeskie Trucks Band, which has restarted in America as COVID-19 vaccinations are progressing. Based on the Derek Trucks Band, with the addition of Derek's wife Susan, the band reigns supreme as a "melting pot of American roots music." This live performance is not with the full lineup, but rather a more typical rock band style with two frontmen, keyboards, bass, drums, and Mike Matheson. Since there is no horn section, you can enjoy Derek's guitar playing throughout. They perform "Bellbottom Blues" and "Love Is a Sad Thing" from the album "Derek and the Dominos" by Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers, where Derek's uncle Butch Trucks was a member, and Eric Clapton. Derek's guitar playing in "Love Is a Sad Thing," performed as an encore, is a must-listen, as he effortlessly weaves between backing, obbligato, and solo parts.
