In the 1960s, studio recordings, including those of The Beatles, were simple 2-track and 4-track recordings, and recording techniques such as overdubbing were still under development. Records and radio were mainly mono. Even The Beatles mainly used mono until the mid-1960s and were not involved in stereo mixing. The story of how the session masters for singles like "Love Me Do" and "She Loves You" were destroyed, making it impossible to create stereo mixes later, is a well-known anecdote. However, with the advancement of AI technology, it is now possible to create true stereo by digitally analyzing and separating mono and overdubbed audio into multi-tracks and remixing them. In recent years, "demixing" has gained attention with Peter Jackson's film "Get Back" and the reissue of the Red and Blue Albums, utilizing this technology, and audio restoration that was previously impossible is now appearing one after another.
