The "Black Edition" compiles content from the 1960s to the 1980s. The first disc contains "promo videos" and "alternate and rarities" from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, organized by decade. With a few exceptions, the 1960s footage is primarily in beautiful HD quality, including recent BBC TV broadcasts, and includes almost all of the most representative footage in chronological order. The audio and video quality of some songs have been meticulously restored; for example, noise from the master recording of "Brown Sugar" has been beautifully restored. This nearly four-hour collection, selected with quality in mind from the existing footage, is a must-see video compilation for fans. The second disc contains the "Live Archive," which includes all the live footage released sequentially on the Stones Archive up to Vol. 6. This collection completely covers 2.5 hours of previously unreleased live footage, including interviews, from reminiscences in Brussels in 1973 to LA in 1975, Hampton in 1981, Leeds in 1982, Tokyo Dome in 1990, and Toronto in 2005. It's a must-see, permanent keepsake video collection that brings together the golden age of the Stones. (Note) Both the DVD and Blu-ray editions have the same content, but the DVD is recorded in SD quality (720x480) with Dolby Digital stereo audio. In addition, the Black Edition DVD Disc 1 is a double-layered pressing equivalent to two DVDs in order to maintain image quality, and the DVD has been converted from the original material in Full High-Definition HD to standard definition. The Blu-ray is in BDR format and is recorded in Full High-Definition Quality HD quality (1920x1080) with linear PCM audio. Based on the original material, it has been restored and converted to Full High-Definition HD specifications and recorded in high-definition image quality and high-quality sound that is faithful to the original sound.
