The Necromancer series, which reissues rare titles from handmade labels by collectors for collectors that were only distributed in very limited quantities, using officially acquired masters, now features Headless Hawk, a top-tier collector's label in the jazz genre. This is a rare live recording from a unit led by Bill Bruford, the genius drummer who has played in important bands in the history of progressive rock, such as Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, and UK. Although it's an audience recording, it's so good you might mistake it for a soundboard recording until you hear the applause between songs. The approach is more jazz-oriented than progressive rock. This is a title that I would like not only prog fans but also jazz fans to check out.
