◆"Music in the Meadowlands", Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ, June 17, 1979
In the late '70s, under the steerage of the unparalleled intellect of Tom Scholz, Boston took off into the massive industrial rock market. With a sound backed by cutting-edge technology, as exemplified by "More Than Feeling," the band was poised for mainstream success. It wasn't until 1978 that they released their second album, "Don't Look Back." This DVD captures the NJ performance on June 17, 1979, recorded shortly afterward using a professional shot from a broadcast master. The quality is unstable, with image and audio fluctuations and occasional black-and-white scenes. The time counter and the mysterious text that lingers in the center of the screen throughout the entire recording can be stressful, so it's not for everyone. However, it does capture BOSTON's greatest selling point in the late '70s: their unparalleled technology that reproduces album-quality performances faithfully, making it a valuable document.
