A rare live recording from the early days of Dead Kennedys is now available on FM Soundboard. This is a live performance from Paradiso, Amsterdam, on May 12, 1982. At this time, Biafra was unique in the history of hardcore punk, mixing stoic, politically charged lyrics with humorous, slightly theatrical techniques in their live performances, and the impulsive nature of punk. This was the period when the band was at its most cohesive, and it's amazing how the messages of early hits like "Holiday in Cambodia" and "Kill the Poor" have remained relevant even after more than 20 years. It's no exaggeration to say that this is the origin of the Dead Kennedys, who have been rediscovered in recent years. This is a highly recommended, punk album!
