ERIC CLAPTON / NO REASON TO CRY SESSIONS (2CD)
This album features 10 tracks from sessions held at The Band's Shangri-La Studios, featuring a vast array of musicians. While the album credits list Rob Fraboni, who has worked with The Band among others, as producer, the recording sessions were actually led by Eric Clapton and Carl Radle, with Rob joining later in the process.
Bob Dylan contributed "Sign Language" and also contributed vocals. Dylan also prepared a song called "Seven Days" for this album, but it was not included on this album. It was favored by guest musician Ron Wood, who featured it on his album Gimme Some Neck (1979).
Among the previously unreleased tracks recorded during these sessions are tracks featuring Van Morrison and Pete Townshend.
The first single from this album, "Hello, Old Friend," reached no. 24 on the US charts.
