This release features two sources of professionally shot live footage of Herbie Hancock, both digitally remastered from high-definition broadcast masters. The first half is a studio live performance held in LA on March 20, 2008, featuring Hancock performing with his Grammy Award-winning album "River: The Joni Letters." The performance of "River" includes an appearance by Joni Mitchell herself, making it a must-see live video. While the running time is relatively short at just under 30 minutes, the superb performance by the stellar band, including Vinnie Colaiuta and Marcus Miller, ensures it's more than enough. The second half features an even more impressive band lineup in a 1997 live performance. This is a stunning live video recording of a Montreal performance by "New Standard All Stars," a group formed by the legendary Herbie Hancock, the late Michael Brecker, and other veterans from Miles Davis's band, including John Scofield, Dave Holland, Don Alias, and Jack Dejohnette, captured from a high-definition master that defies its age.
