This release captures a live performance from the "lost" third iteration of the Jeff Beck Group during their 1972 US tour—specifically the show on August 7 at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas, Texas. This lineup—featuring Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert (who would later join BBA) alongside vocalist Kim Milford—toured for only about ten days; Milford was fired due to poor performance and replaced by the returning Bob Tench just before the start of the group's fourth phase. Consequently, this concert is a rare document from a period of trial and error, characterized by significant setlist changes from show to show and offering a fascinating glimpse into the band's evolution. The performance itself is powerful and truly outstanding. Regarding sound quality: while this is an audience recording that reflects the era and exhibits some occasional instability, the master tape has been carefully restored—including noise reduction—to create this product.
