This is the first release of a rare collection of John McLaughlin recordings! The first four tracks are unreleased sessions from the 1974 album "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" released with the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Originally intended as a two-disc set, this rare recording was shelved.
The fifth track is from the soundtrack to a documentary film about his beloved Sri Chinmoy.
This is an unreleased recording said to feature Santana.
From the sixth track onwards, five tracks are from a WKCR radio session in 1970.

This is a rare recording of a performance with Eve McLaughlin, his wife and performing partner at the time.

As a bonus, it also includes a BBC recording from 1967 by the Mike Carr Quartet, when John McLaughlin was still unknown.

All of this makes this a rare compilation that serves as a valuable record of John McLaughlin's career.
