The Mahavishnu Orchestra reunited in 1984 for "Mahavishnu." This 1986 live performance, which marked the release of their second album, "Adventures In Radioland," is presented here with exquisite stereo soundboard recordings. On stage at Estival Jazz in Switzerland on July 1st, Bill Evans and Jim Beard interacted freely on a bass line supported by the geniuses Jonas Hellberg and Danny Gottlieb, and McLaughlin, with his masterful presence, tightened the band ensemble while also delivering solid performances at key points. Fans looking for the explosive jazz rock of '70s MO may find some parts too pop, but the more you listen, the more you'll be reminded that this was a sound that reflected the times in a positive way and looked toward the future.
