The long-awaited debut performance in Japan, the first day of the Zepp Tokyo 3-Day Tour, on April 13th, is now available on the XAVEL label with an ultra-high-quality audience recording!
More than 20 years have passed since the cancellation of the 1990 Japan tour, and now, a truly miraculous 2011 Japan tour has finally come to fruition!
The band members open with a blues jam, and shortly after, Johnny takes to the stage!
He launches into a storm of classics, Freddie King's "Hideaway." A longtime staple of his live shows, this song's powerful guitar work is enough to give you goosebumps! And in the middle of the show, he plays another long-standing staple, Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode"! He then played "Don't Take Advantage Of Me," sandwiched between three other songs: "Blackjack," "Tore Down," and "Lone Wolf." During the encore, he brought out riffs from Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" and the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter."
For the encore, he brought out his long-time trademark Firebird and performed "Dust My Broom" and "Highway 61 Revisited"!
