From the Stargazers label, currently attracting attention as the pinnacle of Miles Davis collector's labels, comes a Miles Davis item. The Stargazers label also plays a supporting role, including creating bonus discs for Voodoo Down Records.

This release features audio from the first day of a two-day concert at the Beacon Theatre in April 1986. 1986 saw a change in guitarists: Mike Stern until March, Robben Ford from April, and Garth Weber from September. This concert takes place shortly after Robben Ford took over. Ballad numbers like Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," which shine amidst the funky sound, showcase the true essence of the twin synths, a key element of the later Miles Davis sound. Despite being an audience recording, it's remarkably well-recorded with no disruptive audience members. The latest remastering has increased the sound pressure, making this a title worth paying attention to once again.
